"Durante todo el periodo prehispánico, los alfareros mesoamericanos elaboraron vasijas de diversas formas y tamaños. Entre las creaciones más pequeñas se distinguen aquellas piezas que en la actualidad identificamos con el nombre de miniaturas arqueológicas, por ser estas reproducciones a escala de piezas más grandes. Dichas creaciones fueron empleadas de diversas maneras en los ámbitos religioso y cotidiano". (p. 3). |
